An Edwardian Villa Restoration and Reconfiguration

This beautiful Edwardian Villa restoration by Ivy Lane Interiors uses our Worn Vintage Oak Parquet throughout the ground floor.  Its beautiful bronze tones work wonderfully within the muted colour scheme, helping to unify the space and create an interior that is cohesive, warm, welcoming and utterly timeless.

An Edwardian Villa Restoration and Reconfiguration

This Edwardian Villa was turned around on its plot by Ivy Lane Interiors. Their brief was to work on the interior architecture, interior design and renovation to create a classic country house style with a natural muted colour palette, traditional styles and shapes, and some quirky touches.

The challenge lay in how best to reconfigure the ground floor to make the layout work for modern family life whilst maintaining the character and history of the property. The Villa was  sensitively extended and reconfigured; the kitchen, utility, laundry, boot room and snug were moved to the other side of the house to enjoy the southern light and connect them with the gardens, and a study, living room and playroom were created at the rear of the house. A blend of natural materials, timeless fabrics, bespoke designed joinery and quirky art transformed this family home and paired beautifully with our Worn Oak Vintage Parquet which was installed throughout the ground floor in classic 280×70 size.

The floor was essential to maintaining the character and flow throughout the house. It has a naturally warm, welcoming feel, and its aged, vintage appearance makes it look as though it has always been there. It is absolutely timeless and its lovely bronze-grey tones meld wonderfully with the muted colour scheme, natural textures, and interesting antique furniture chosen for this property. It’s a floor that is ideal for period homes, is easy to live with and brings an undeniable wow-factor.

When asked what they most loved about Worn Oak Vintage Parquet, Ivy Lane said:

“We love the look and feel of the flooring. It looks as if it has always been there and creates such atmosphere even before we add the many layers of joinery, furniture, antiques, fabrics, lighting, art and accessories on top.”
