The gently undulating boards of our Restoration Collection, with their tactile, shrunken knots, natural saw marks and rich texture have a unique and truly beautiful patina. Often seen in naturally weathered timber, it is typically lost during the process of producing carefully dried and precisely machined modern flooring. We have preserved and enhanced it, then added layers of carefully blended colour to create captivating wood floors that are the epitome of organic luxury.

Wren Oak Flooring

FROM: £126.64 m2

Evocative of old mahogany, the intense russet hue of our Wren Oak planks alongside their fabulous surface texture creates an inviting floor with easy natural grandeur. It would be perfect for the restoration of country style period properties or to add character and gravitas to contemporary additions.

Wren Oak is made on Strata, our award-winning all-oak engineered flooring in our Original Face Oak and finished with our hardwearing, solvent-free hardwax oil in a natural looking matt, satin finish.

Strata boards are made from 3 layers of oak so they have the same feel and resonance as a traditional oak board with the added stability of an engineered construction.

Original Face Oak is never planed; it is sawn and then dried, leaving a gently undulating surface with wonderfully tactile, slightly shrunken knots, natural saw marks running across the boards, and a richly textured surface created by a series of brushes which are used to clean the surface in place of planing and sanding. It is carefully selected to feature attractive knots, some splits and gentle natural colour variation, which together create a rustic yet elegant floor. Smaller knots are left unfilled, and larger ones are filled by hand so the filler sits just below the surface and doesn’t interrupt the gently undulating surface of the timber.

Wren Oak is fully finished with our high performance, solvent free hardwax oil which has a beautiful matt satin sheen and can easily be cared for using our Wood Floor Cleaner and Wood Floor Wax.

Wren Oak planks are available in 3 widths which can be used singly or mixed to create a more traditional looking oak floor.
