A bit more information about our Nuances Plank flooring

We make our Nuances plank flooring in traditional solid oak, our premium, all oak Strata engineered board and our classic style Quintessential engineered board. All of these options are finished with the same solvent free, high performance hardwax oil so you can confidently choose the right option for your project. We make traditional and Strata engineered boards in a choice of widths which can be mixed if you wish to create a more traditional looking oak floor.

A bit more information about our Nuances Parquet flooring

Nuances Parquet flooring is made as individual elements designed to be laid to create attractive patterns. As the pieces run in different directions they catch the light in different ways which shows off the grain of the timber to stunning effect whichever way you walk across the floor. Although they are inherently elegant and luxurious, Finished like our planks with high performance hardwax oil, Nuances parquet floors are hard-wearing and well suited to high traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens and commercial interiors.

Parquet flooring patterns

In recent years, although the term parquet covers a wide range of different designs and possiblities, parquet floors have become synonymous with the most commonly seen herringbone design. The popularity of the herrringbone flooring is due not only to the timeless appeal of the design but also to its versatility - it works almost anywhere, in any space and with most styles of architecture and decor. Herringbone floors make narrower spaces appear wider and more generous but equally adds interest and intimacy to larger rooms. It is idea for rooms entered from different directions as it draws you in whichever way you cross it.

Nuances parquet flooring can be used to create herringbone and brickwork designs and the smaller size is also suitable for Basketweave. Chevrons create their own unique pattern that works best in larger spaces where plenty of flooring is visible; it is inherently elegant but also inviting as it naturally draws you into and through the room.

Installing our Nuances parquet flooring

Our Nuances parquet flooring is precision machined to the highest standards to make it as easy as possible to install. It can be successfully fitted in any room with normal living conditions including over underfloor heating in line with our simple installation guidance. It will need to be glue fixed to a dry, level structural subfloor using our Broadleaf Ultra wood flooring adhesive or a suitable equivalent.

All Nuances Parquet floors are fully finished and no need further finishing once laid. We would normally recommend that our parquet flooring installed by an experienced professional but if you would like to try and fit your own, then give us a call and we will be happy to talk you through what would be involved and send you our guide to installing parquet floors. It is worth bearing in mind that fitting a parquet floor is a more time consuming and complex process than installing plank flooring as there are many more pieces to deal with and cuts to make, so it will cost a little more.

Please ensure that professional fitters read our general flooring installation guide for information on sub floor preparation requirements and underfloor heating.
