Broadleaf Byron
Squares were inspired by a
C16th Mediterranean design and combine beautiful
European Oak with handmade Spanish terracotta tiles to
stunning effect. They are the perfect solution for
kitchens, conservatories and any room with under-floor
heating creating a slightly aged looking, rustic style
floor which is original, practical and durable.
Byron Squares are supplied
as a kit comprising saddle jointed, pre-drilled
oak frames, oak plugs and calibrated
terracotta tiles.
To create this unique floor, the
frames are
fitted
to an existing sub-floor (ideally concrete) in a
basket weave pattern. They can be fitted square to
the wall or at an angle. These are then protected with
Hardwax Oil before the blocks of 4 tiles are glued
and grouted and the whole floor is sealed.
Handmade terracotta
tiles are also available separately and
are ideal for use in smaller areas such as utility
rooms, hallways or the W. C. to complement the Byron
Squares.Alternatively they can be used in larger
areas to create a beautiful yet economical natural
floor.
