Broadleaf English
Elm is a beautiful timber full of striking
colour contrasts. Following the ravages of Dutch Elm
disease, English Elm is of course subject to stock, but if
you
are
looking
for
a unique feature floor, this is definitely it !
Colours range from
creamy pink to deep auburn and chestnut and there is even the occasional
emerald green streak within the lively
grain. Broadleaf Elm is specially
selected to include a high proportion of
burr which creates the highly sought after
cats paw markings. It contains some knots and splits characteristic of a mixed grade.
Elm
is available in random widths only and will need to
be sanded and filled after installation. Due to their length (approx 3m), these
boards are tongue & grooved on the sides only. They will need to be cut back to the batons / joists to which they are fitted. They are not suitable for use over under-floor heating.
This product is ideally finished with Hardwax Oil,
or a matt lacquer such as Bonakemi Traffic.
