Broadleaf Oak Plank Doors add character and rustic charm to any interior. Made to measure in our workshop from select grade European Oak they can be adapted to a wide range of openings..

They are traditionally constructed from 4 - 6 random width planks, fixed with three horizontal ledges that are screwed and plugged from the rear.

For further information on which way to hang doors, and how this affects the ledges see
technical information.

Diagonal braces are not needed to stability, but can be added as an optional extra if you prefer These are left loose to be fixed in situ to follow the way the door is hung.

Any knots in the timber are filled as part of the construction process and each door is
machine sanded. A traditional double row of rosehead nails are then added through the face into each of the lledges. These are an aesthetic detail and can be omitted to suit more contemporary interiors - please ask when you order.

If required, we can also make these doors
stable style. In this case a fourth ledge is added to create the central rebate and 3 pairs of hinges will be needed to hang the door.

Broadleaf Oak Plank Doors are supplied unsealed as standard. To finish them in situ, sand lightly, stain if required, and then seal with the finish of your choice. We would recommend Broadleaf Hardwax Oil.

Alternatively, your door can be pre-finished in our workshop in one of the following styles:

Classic - 2 coats of clear Hardwax Oil to bring out natural tones. Undercoating in this finish is also available.

Brushed & Burned - Textured aged finish available in light, medium or dark shades to be oiled in situ.
